About the Outdoor Diary
Edinburgh, Lothians and the Scottish Borders
The Outdoor Diary is a non-profit joint-marketing initiative subsidised by grant funding from Forestry Commission Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage, and by the many organisations that list their events and advertise with us.
We aim to promote the fantastic range of outdoor events and activities taking place across Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders every year, along with the many outdoor locations and visitor centres that are open to visitors.
We host a constantly updating event database on this website, which you can search by dates and activity type, or by location. Click on the title of an event to find all the information you need to go along and take part.
We publish a paper version of the event diary every year at Easter, and you can request your own copy here.
We also work throughout the year to promote our contributors’ events via existing media channels.
The Outdoor Diary is grateful to Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and Treefest for ongoing financial support.
