The Outdoor Diary is a place where you can come to find out about hundreds of events and activities in the great outdoors, covering Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders. The events are hosted by ranger services and other environmental organisations throughout the area.

Scottish Natural Heritage

Forestry Commission Scotland
Aims to protect and expand Scotland's woodlands and increase their value to society and the environment. We provide grants to help people look after and create woods. We also manage Scotland's national forests for timber, wildlife and recreation. Treefest

Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Environmental Education Forum
An independent group consisting of individuals, local and national organisations who are working to raise awareness about the environment in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Their counterpart in the Borders is Scottish Borders Environment Partnership. Contact by email.
Four Winds Inspiration Centre
An environmental education and craft based charity offering a wide range of craft, herbal and renewable energy classes for adults and parents with children. We produce custom-carved chainsaw sculptures for parks, gardens, playgrounds, etc. We also organise the Edinburgh Treefest and Wood Market.
